The GTR 2010 registration window is now closed.
If you haven't sent your application in by the time you read this, it's too late.
GTR Registration Criteria: After our mail arrives on February 5, we will amass all of the registrations that have arrived and determine who is in the rally and who is on the wait list by the following criteria:
1. GTR Hall of Famers. Their early registration has now ended and 22 teams are signed up for the rally. If a GTR Hall of Fame team is eligible for early registration and does not use it, that team will be treated as GTR "first-timers" and will basically go to the "end of the line".
2. GTR attendance. The more GTRs you have attended, the better your chances, to a point. If you have attended five GTRs, you get priority over someone who has only attended one or two GTRs. However, if you have not attended GTR since 2004 (Statesboro), all of the years you have attended count as one year. (Hey, where have you been for the last five years?) We feel that active GTR participants should have an advantage over people who we have not seen at the rally for a long time.
You can check how many times you have been to the rally on our GTR Rosters Page. If you think we don't have your attendance correct, please let us know as this is an important number we will use for your team.
3. Recent GTR attendance. The more recent your GTR attendance, the better. For example, if you attended GTR 2009, you get priority over someone who was not at the rally last year if both of you have attended the same amount of times.
4. Correct application information. You would be surprised at all of the people who screw up the simple GTR application and omit vital information like an emergency contact. If you do it this year, it will hurt your chances of getting into the rally, so make sure you give all information that is requested.
5. Hat pull. We will put any remaining names into a stylish fedora and pull them out. Are you feeling lucky? Trust us, your chances are better this way.
We realize that the criteria above make it look hard for first-timers to get into the rally, but 31 teams were new at GTR 2009, so it's not as hard as it appears. We welcome and appreciate new riders and emphasize that your chances of getting into the rally are very, very good.
